TOMOO GOKITA / 五木田 智央
1969年東京生まれ。
90年代、ドローイング作品で注目を集め、2000年に初の作品集『ランジェリー・レスリング』を出版。
ニューヨークでの展覧会を皮切りに、「DIC川村記念美術館」や「東京オペラシティアートギャラリー」、「ダラス・コンテンポラリー」での個展を開催。
LOOSEJOINTSをはじめるきっかけを作ってくれた作家でもある。

LOOSE JOINTSのルーツは、90年代以降のカルチャー誌にあります。
東京、NY、ロンドン、ベルリンで、多くの刺激的な雑誌とアーティストたちが共にカルチャーを牽引していた時代に生まれました。
そして、雑誌の存在価値が問われる今の時代。
同じ時代を過ごしてきた大好きなアーティストたちの作品の素晴らしさ、一緒にものを作る楽しさ、所有する喜びを、LOOSE JOINTSをクリエイティブなプラットフォームとして、また世界に届けたい。
Tシャツでも器でも家具でも作品集でも、その形はなんでもいい。
今の時代に生まれたアーティストたちも交え、ゆるやかにカルチャーを繋げていきたい。

Originally released during the revival of LOOSEJOINTS in 2019, this iconic piece returns as part of the permanent collection.

TOMOO GOKITA
Born in Tokyo in 1969.
Gokita gained attention in the 1990s for his drawing works and published his first art book, “Lingerie Wrestling,” in 2000.
Beginning with exhibitions in New York, he has held solo exhibitions at institutions including the DIC Kawamura Memorial Museum, Tokyo Opera City Art Gallery, and Dallas Contemporary.
He is also one of the artists who inspired the launch of LOOSEJOINTS.

The roots of LOOSE JOINTS lie in the culture magazines that emerged after the 1990s.
It was born during a time when provocative magazines and artists in Tokyo, New York, London, and Berlin were shaping culture together.
Now, in an era where the value of magazines is constantly being questioned, LOOSE JOINTS aims to once again share the brilliance of artists’ works, the joy of creating together, and the pleasure of ownership through a creative platform.
Whether it’s T-shirts, ceramics, furniture, or art books, the form does not matter.
By including artists born into the current era as well, LOOSE JOINTS hopes to loosely connect culture across generations.
